Meet Paramjit “Romi” Chopra of MIMIT (Midwest Institute for Minimally Invasive Therapies)
Today we’d like to introduce you to Paramjit “Romi” Chopra.
Romi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a physician and an entrepreneur passionate about taking care of people, caring for people using holistic and hi-tech techniques and remedies to help people lead a happy and healthy life. I trained at Harvard medical school and pursued academic medicine but ultimately got frustrated by the waste, inefficiencies and lack of patient-centric care at large institutions. I watched patients stumble through complex systems that appear to care only for their existence. Physicians worked in silo’s and patients were lost and did not easily receive the state of the art minimally invasive options.
I then formed MIMIT with the goal of providing state of the art, minimally invasive treatment options in the community, closer to their homes. We integrated holistic patient care methods such as meditation, music therapy along with hi-tech state of the art advanced techniques using image guidance. We strive to treat the body, mind and soul, not just in words but with our day to day actions.
I chose to apply best of practice principles from other industries applying systems thinking, project and process management, software as a service, cloud platforms, advanced data analytics to help provide cost effective care. My focus was to keep the patient out of unnecessary hospitalization yet provide advanced care in an outpatient setting.
We currently provide minimally invasive, advanced image guided therapeutic options to all of Chicagoland in an outpatient environment.
