A message from dr. chopra

Fearlessness & Love of Work.

Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale, and countless others over time have gone into disease-stricken areas to fight disease and help other humans. What’s one major attribute they manifest? Fearlessness. The other is their clear love for their work, which is a medium of mercy.

This love for providing care, and their delight in it, simply and largely protects them.

One cannot love anything while fearing it. Those caregivers who do fall ill may be large because fear has crept into their consciousness while doing this work.

Man is protected from illness by our immune system. Fear is an overwhelming cause of sickness. It weakens our immune system and allows other pathogens, large and small, to attack us.

Those who fall prey to fear are more likely to become sick. But those who face disease with no fear are likely to remain well.

Wellness and happiness are not the absence of problems; it's the presence of solutions.

So remain fearless, but not reckless. Exercise every known precaution and put all the love into your work and find solutions to the problems that the universe has challenged us with.

Each one of us does not have to be a Mother Teresa. We each have our own purpose (Dharma) and we can contribute, no matter how small to the solution. It's our action (Karma) that matters.

Stay strong, fearless, and simply do your best.

Gratefully,

Romi Chopra
